Permanent Jewelry Care & Warranty Policy
Complimentary Rewelds & Fit Adjustments
We want your permanent jewelry to fit comfortably and last for years to come.
Bring your original Chasing Indigo jewelry back anytime for:
• Complimentary rewelds if the welded connection comes apart and the original jewelry is intact.
• Complimentary fit adjustments if your jewelry stretches or needs a minor adjustment. Complimentary sizing applies to making existing jewelry smaller. If additional chain is needed to make a piece larger, a new chain or bracelet must be purchased.
Complimentary services cover necessary rewelds and fit adjustments only. They do not include restyling, rearranging charms, or changing the placement of components.
Charms may be added at their current retail price.
Alterations & Charm Rearranging
Customer-requested changes that are not needed for repair or fit are considered alterations.
A $10–$20 service fee applies to alterations and charm rearrangements, including repositioning charms, changing the arrangement of a piece, or adding or removing existing charms at the customer’s request.
Any new chain, charms, connectors, jump rings, or other materials needed for an alteration are charged separately at their current retail price.
Replacement chain costs apply when chain is needed because of loss, damage, excessive stretching, missing sections, or another non-warranty circumstance.
Proof of purchase is required for complimentary services.
Hand Chain Care & Replacement
Hand chains are more prone to catching and snagging than traditional bracelets because of their design and placement. Snagging can cause stretching or breakage, even during normal wear.
Complimentary rewelding is available when the original hand chain is intact and can be safely repaired. If it is damaged, stretched, or broken beyond repair, replacement chain or a new hand chain must be purchased.
By purchasing a permanent hand chain, you acknowledge that snagging, stretching, and breakage are inherent risks of this delicate style and are not considered manufacturing defects.
90-Day Workmanship Warranty
We stand behind the quality of our jewelry.
Within 90 days of purchase, we will repair or replace the original jewelry or gemstone charm at no charge if inspection confirms a faulty weld, manufacturing defect, or a gemstone that has fallen out of a gemstone charm.
Warranty coverage is determined by Chasing Indigo after inspection.
The warranty does not cover:
• Lost jewelry
• Accidental damage
• Damage from snagging, pulling, excessive force, or misuse
• Normal wear, stretching, or cosmetic changes
• Customer-requested alterations, redesigns, or charm rearrangements
After 90 days, replacement gemstone charms may be purchased at their current retail price. If you choose not to replace the charm, we can reconnect or reweld the remaining jewelry without it, provided the piece is repairable.
Proof of purchase and the original jewelry are required for all warranty claims.
Complimentary rewelds and fit adjustments are maintenance services for your original jewelry and are separate from the 90-day workmanship warranty. Chasing Indigo reserves the right to determine whether a service qualifies as complimentary maintenance, warranty repair, or a paid alteration after inspection.
Jewelry Care & What “Permanent” Means
Permanent jewelry is made to live life in — but permanent doesn’t mean indestructible. Like all jewelry, how your piece wears over time depends on the material, your lifestyle, and your individual body chemistry.
Our permanent jewelry is offered in 14k gold-filled and sterling silver, both chosen for their durability and ability to hold up beautifully to everyday wear.
14k Gold-Filled
• Gold-filled is made with a thick layer of real 14k gold mechanically bonded to a base metal. It contains significantly more gold than traditional gold-plated jewelry and is designed for long-term everyday wear.
• Gold-filled is not solid gold. Like any gold jewelry that is not solid gold, the outer gold layer can gradually wear or fade over time.
• With proper care, gold-filled jewelry can generally maintain its gold finish for years, but longevity varies from person to person depending on skin chemistry, lifestyle, products, chemicals, and frequency of wear.
• Gradual fading, discoloration, or changes to the finish over time are considered normal wear and are not a manufacturing defect.
Sterling Silver
• Sterling silver is a precious metal designed to last a lifetime with proper care. Unlike plated jewelry, there is no outer silver-colored layer that can simply wear away.
• Sterling silver naturally oxidizes and can tarnish or darken over time. This is completely normal and does not mean your jewelry is damaged.
• Tarnish can typically be cleaned and polished to restore the silver’s shine.
Where can I wear it?
Your permanent jewelry is designed for everyday life and can generally be worn while:
• Showering
• Sleeping
• Exercising
• Washing your hands
• Swimming in pools or the ocean
• Going about your normal daily activities
That said, the less exposure your jewelry has to harsh chemicals, the better it will wear over time. Chlorine, saltwater, cleaning products, lotions, perfumes, sunscreen, sweat, and other products can affect metals differently and may accelerate fading, tarnishing, or discoloration.
We recommend rinsing your jewelry with fresh water after swimming or heavy exposure to sweat, saltwater, or chemicals and gently cleaning it as needed.
A note about permanent jewelry:
“Permanent” refers to the jewelry being clasp-free and welded closed — it does not mean the jewelry is unbreakable or guaranteed to remain unchanged forever.
